Frequently asked questions
How do I steer?
Pick a control mode in Settings → Controls:
- Tap (default): tap the left or right half of the screen to change lanes.
- Swipe: swipe left or right anywhere on the screen. Each swipe moves one lane.
- Tilt: tilt your phone to steer freely across the road.
How do near-misses and combos work?
When a car is about to hit you, dodge at the last moment. Each near-miss is worth bonus points, and chaining several within a few seconds builds a combo that multiplies them (up to ×5).
What does nitro do?
Drive into a blue nitro canister for a few seconds of extra speed. While it's active you smash through traffic for bonus points. When it ends, your car blinks briefly so you can't crash straight away.
How do I unlock cars?
Open the Garage, swipe to a locked car and tap Watch Ad to Unlock. Each car needs 1 to 5 short ads. Your progress is saved for each car and never resets. Color options are always free.
I watched an ad but didn't get my reward
Rewards are only given when an ad is watched to the end. If you close it early, try again. If "No ad available, try again soon" appears, no ad could be loaded right now; check your internet connection and try a little later.
Can I continue after crashing?
Once per run you can watch a short ad to revive and keep your score. You can also watch an ad on the Game Over screen to double the coins from that run.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. The game works fully offline, on a flight or anywhere else. An internet connection is only used to load ads, so unlocking cars, reviving and doubling coins need one.
Speed shows in the wrong unit
Switch between km/h and mph in Settings → Speed units.
The game feels slow or stutters
- Close other apps running in the background and restart the game.
- Turn off battery saver or power saving mode, which can limit performance.
- Make sure your device has some free storage.
No sound or vibration
- Check Settings → Sound effects / Music / Vibration in the game.
- On iPhone, the game follows the silent switch. Turn silent mode off to hear sounds.
- Turn up your media volume.
How do I change my ad privacy choices?
If you're in a region where we ask for consent (such as the UK or EU), open Settings → Privacy options in the game. On Android you can also reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads. On iPhone, Highway Dash doesn't track you and never asks for tracking permission. See our Privacy Policy.
Will I lose my progress if I reinstall?
Your best score, coins, unlocked cars and settings are stored only on your device, so uninstalling the game removes them. We don't keep any copy on a server.
